Schedule We are a NC licensed fishing guide service with more than 25 years of guide experience. We are available for 8, 6, and 4-hour fishing excursions for up to 4 people maximum per trip, 7 days a week, year-round. Lake Info ![]() Fish for walleye, lake trout and bass on beautiful Fontana Lake in Western North Carolina. This 10,230 acre scenic lake with 230 miles of shoreline is nestled between the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Nantahala National Forest on the Little Tennessee River in the mountains of western North Carolina. Fontana Dam, at 480 feet high and 2,365 feet wide, is the highest dam east of the Rocky Mountains. At an elevation of around 1700 feet, Fontana is one of the deepest lakes in the region, with areas reaching depths of 400 feet. This lake attracts fishermen from all over the country and offers some of the best fishing in the southeast, with abundant small and large mouth bass, trout, crappie, walleye pike, and perch. Rates 8 hour trips: $275 for one person, $50 each additional person 6 hour trips: $240 for one person, $30 each additional person 4 hour trips: $175 for one person, $30 each additional person Four persons maximum per excursion. First come, first served availability. We require a $50 deposit for advance reservations. We should receive your check or money order at least 10 days in advance of your trip date. Please leave your name and phone number and we will return your call. We provide all fishing gear, bait and tackle, life preservers, and flotation devices for each member of your fishing party. Please bring your own lunch and refreshments, limit one cooler per party. All fees are due upon arrival, cash or check only please. ![]() Recent fishing excursions Fishing Licenses: You must have a valid NC State Fishing License to fish on Fontana Lake. Prices vary depending upon the type of license you purchase. 10-day basic licenses are available for out of state residents for only $10. These licenses are available at several locations nearby, including Almond Boat Park (4 miles away), Smoky Mountain Bait and Tackle Shop (appx. 10 miles), any local Wal-mart store, Fontana Village Resort (appx. 20 miles away), or you may purchase your license online here, wildlife.state.nc.us, or ncwildlife.org. You are responsible for obtaining valid licenses or permits prior to the excursion. All state and local fishing laws and regulations apply.
